ABOUT
Jeff Bachman is an associate professor and chair of the Department of Peace, Human Rights, and Cultural Relations at American University’s School of International Service. He is also the faculty director of the American University International Relations Society (AMIRS). AMIRS hosts the American University Model United Nations Conference, the largest interconnected high school Model UN conference, and home of North America’s #1 ranked collegiate Model UN team. In addition to his faculty role, he is the executive secretary for the International Network of Genocide Scholars and a member of the Genocide Studies and Prevention editorial board.
He is the author of The Politics of Genocide: From the Genocide Convention to the Responsibility to Protect (Rutgers University Press, 2022) and The United States and Genocide: (Re)Defining the Relationship (Routledge, 2017). He is also the editor of Cultural Genocide: Law, Politics, and Global Manifestations (Routledge, 2019) and the forthcoming volume Genocide Studies: Pathways Ahead (Rutgers University Press, 2024). His research has also been published in Third World Quarterly, Genocide Studies and Prevention, Journal of Genocide Research, and International Studies Perspectives, among others.
